CAD support duties include layouts and modeling of sheet metal panels, partitions, brackets, bases, enclosures, chassis and molded parts for heavy duty power distribution units. I use Autocad Electrical to create and edit end user schematic diagrams as well as Altium Designer and Protel software to layout and develop printed circuit boards for control interface. All drawings are done in compliance with current quality standards. CAD Drafter, PCB Design Tech - IPC CID circuit board designer, Autocad and Solidworks professional February 2004 – November 2010 Parks Medical Electronics - Aloha, Oregon I designed circuit boards with signal integrity requirements for medical equipment. I also developed electronic chassis, enclosures, and mechanical parts to close fit tolerances. For this I used Protel, Altium, Solidworks and Autocad. All mechanical designs developed using 3D solid modeling. I interacted daily with engineers, designers, machinists and operators. I created all support documents in accordance with ISO and 21 CFR. I produced over 1200 quality documents and optimized support for internal customers by directing and prioritizing department resources. In 2008 I was appointed interim quality systems administrator. Production Engineer May 2002 - October 2003 Tube Specialties Co., Inc. - Troutdale, Oregon I produced 3D solid models using Autocad and Cadkey for fabrication of tubing products. I created time and material estimates, resolved production issues, determined production routing and worked with customers and engineers to initiate custom designs. I was a member of TSCO Six Sigma team tasked with expediting process flow. Printed Circuit Board Layout and Design Technician October 2000 - January 2002 Cascade Microtech Inc. - Beaverton, Oregon I designed multilayer circuit boards for high speed testing of customer components using Mentor Graphics Expedition suite. My experience involved high speed (UHF) pcb layout, impedance control, differential pair matching, timed signal evaluation, ultra fine pitch connectivity, signal integrity analysis and component validation. I also designed mechanical circuit board support items using Autocad and Solidworks 3D. Intel Fab 20 Industrial Planner, Structural Detailer, Piping Designer August 1997 - October 2000 Caddesign Inc. - Gresham, Oregon My job was space planning and facility layout at Intel Fab 20. This involved tool installation plans, structural detailing, process piping layouts and fab accessory design. I used Autocad exclusively throughout my term. Manufacturing Test Engineer December 1991 - July 1997 Sentrol Inc. - Tualatin, Oregon I was primarily responsible for production support by designing assembly and test fixtures. I also developed specialized equipment control and interface circuit boards. I used Autocad 3D, Cadkey and Orcad. EDUCATION Bachelor's Degree October 1986 Southern California University for Professional Studies Design Drafting, transferred 90 credits from University of Oregon. Associate Degree April 1986 Balin Institute of Technology, Anaheim California Computer Aided Design 4.00 GPA Portland Community College 1 year core sequences complete in Autocad, Visual Basic programming and Electronics. SKILLS Software - Autocad, Solidworks, Cadkey, Orcad, Mentor Graphics, Altium, Protel, MS Office, Visual Basic, HTML, Adobe, Dimensioning Standards, ANSI, DOD, ISO Technical - technical writing, geometric + positional tolerances, descriptive geometry, weld symbols, materials / manufacturing processes, equipment install, quality systems, project management, product development, test engineering, signal integrity analysis, documentation standards CERTIFICATIONS Certified Interconnect Designer ( CID ) June 2004 IPC Designers Council |
